Hi,
We are staying near Kyoto station and have only one day in this beautiful town, so trying to narrow down and see, what can we cover. Based on previous posts and from photographic prospective, I can come up with this plan –
1- Get San-In Line and get down at Saga-Arashiyama. Walk till Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
2- Get taxi from Arashiyama Bamboo Forest to Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), as I don’t see convenient public service.
3- Get taxi from Kinkakuji to Hanamikoji Street and then walk down to Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka. Take taxi to Hanami-koji too if not tired.
4- Walk to Kiyomizu temple.
5- Get train from Hanami-koji to Sanjūsangen-dō (Keihan Main Line)
6- It would be late evening by this time. Now we can see take train and visit Fushimi Inari or can spend time around Hanamikoji Street/Yasaka Jinja, as I read these will look nice in night.
Questions:
1- Is it a reasonable plan, considering we have only short time, but want to see whatever we can? Or you will change places? I am not dead set on these places. I randomly picked few places from old posts and internet. If you think something can be removed or other places would be more worth, please share your opinion.
2- For 4th point, Is it worth to visit Kiyomizu temple, if we can’t climb so may stairs, as we are visiting with kid? Can taxi go up to some distance?
3- Wherever I mentioned taking taxi, is it correct or I am missing better convenient public transport?
4- For 6th points, what would you suggest?
Please advice. Thanks in advance.
