Paying Taxes if living in Japan but doing a remote job and paid in US dollars and US bank

Have a part time remote job teaching online. Earn less than 100,000 a month in yen and maybe about 500-700 dollars month. Living in Japan on a spousal visa and husband works full time so I am a dependent on their taxes, pension and social security. Quit my full time job to take care of the kids last year. Earning some extra money to pay for food and clothes.

So heard from a friend if you make less than 100,000 yen a month or less than 1,200,000 yen a year you don’t need to pay taxes taxes in Japan, from a house wife, so not sure how true this is. However I am sure I need to pay US taxes and the remote job doesn’t consider me an employee but a contractor I believe. I am paid in US dollars to my US bank.

I know Japan and US has a treaty about not paying double taxes so if I just report it in the US to my tax accountant and pay there am I good for the year?

I am bad about this stuff and any help or experience is appreciated
