I’ve been living in Japan on a spouse visa since Jan 2020.
A sibling of mine has applied for a family visa to come and visit.
I’m wondering if any other people here have been through the application process and how long it took to get the visa.
The agency said it should take one week and the immigration website also says allow at least one week.
However, it has been almost two weeks. I know that’s still not very long but i have a mingling sense it might be rejected even though I can’t think of a specific reason why it would be. Also, the Melbourne consulate website says to contact the agency if your passport is not returned within one week.
Anyway, those of you who have had family members visit in the last couple of months, (especially since the requirements have changed in June 2022) how long did it take for the visa to be granted?
