  1. If I’m currently working as a translator under the Specialist in Humanities visa, can I just switch to working as an english teacher? Does it fall under the same scope or do I need to get permission from immigration?

  2. i bought tickets for a takarazuka show in osaka next month from a reselling website (the price was good and i really wanted to see the show). i received them in the mail yesterday and noticed they have the seller’s name on them. has anyone had their ID checked when using resale tickets for this sort of thing (not just takarazuka, but other musicals or even concerts)? i’m visibly foreign, but i’ll be going with my girlfriend who is japanese, so maybe there’s even less of a chance of issue? anyway, just wondering if anyone had any input on this.

  3. Any recs for a “drone” for a 10 year old kid to play with. Mostly indoors, maybe at the park a bit, cheap enough that it’s no big deal when he breaks or gets bored of it.

There are lots on Amazon for ¥4-6k, but it’s tough to tell which might be usable, and which absolute crap

  4. Recently got into baking and a professional pastry chef said he learned a lot while working in Japan. What kind of apps/websites/resources do Japanese people use to learn baking/cooking/recipes?

  5. Probably a stupid question, but I’m filling in a form and I got an error on my name field. It says to use full width capital letter (大文字) katakana for my name. I already write in full width but I don’t understand what they mean by capital letter. Does it mean converting small kanas in my name to regular ones?
