So I am learning japanese as you might have guess and I appear to be a little stuck about how to type Wa we and wi in katakana using the android keyboard
Lets take we as example
I dont get any suggestions to how it is to be written except ゑ
What I am trying to get here is ウエ (i get this by typing ue) 、but with the second character being small
I had similar problems with wa from こんいちは (which is actually ha)
I am doing some duolingo exercises, so I need to figure out how to write this
For example, we can be encountered in Sweden

Characters like ゑ are very old and not really in use anymore (there was a thread about it in this sub not too long ago).
But it sounds like you’re just asking what to type to make ウェ with the little ェ or ィ ?
The easiest way is just to type the letter “l” first. So for example to write スウェーデン you would type “su + l + e.”
You can do that for any of the other small characters as well, like L plus “ya” = ゃ
In my head I always think of it like L for little, so “little e, little tsu” or whatever. But I have no idea if that’s actually the origin.
If you use a 10-key flick keyboard, you simply type the kana you want, then press 小 to make it small.
If you insist on using a romaji keyboard, you can do a few things:
スウェーデン suwe-den, suuxe-den
こんにちは konnnichiha (note the three n because it takes nn to create ん; konnichiha results in こんいちは as you wrote, which is incorrect)
