  1. Good news. Incheon<->Narita was already up and running, but spending half a day just to go to Korea was definitely not fun.

  2. From earlier reports, I think South Korea had been hoping to resume visa-free travel both ways in conjunction with this route reopening, however it’s obviously not happened yet. It would be interesting to know to what extent it was discussed.

    > South Korea’s Justice Ministry said Wednesday it will simplify the process of issuing visas to tourists from Japan and several other countries starting Friday, in a move to increase the number of visitors from overseas.

    South Korea is one of the only countries to reciprocate Japan’s worldwide suspension of visa waivers. Visa-free travel used to be possible both ways, but currently a visa is needed both ways (for Korean and Japanese passport holders)

  3. It isn’t a good idea to travel Japan in summer. It is hot as hell.
