I took a 23/month job in Kyoto. Am I an idiot?

Long story short I was sick of the english life, but I was earning 270,000yen a month which isn’t the worst for a single man. But I was so sick of teaching english that I quit, and while jobless, I started applying for anything. I applied for a market research job that pays 240,000 and actually got it.

Pros of my new job:
•Nice to finally use Japanese in my job
•My coworkers are great
•The work is busy and actually feels good to do
•Because of all the work, the day goes by so so fast.

Overall I like the job and feel i’m finally learning skills and improving my Japanese to where I can transfer these skills to a future job.

The problem is I’m reaching my 30s, and feel like this pay is so bad that I should have stuck with the english job. I guess it’s technically not too late to go back to my old job, but I feel like sticking it out with this job would help me eventually get a better paying job that isn’t english. What do you guys think?

Edit: Wow! So many positive comments that I just wanna say thank you guys. You’ve helped me feel confident in my decision. I’m gonna stick to this job
