I have a credit card by Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Club. The original credit card was issued by Citi Bank which ceased operations in Japan in 2015. It is a Delta Skymiles card whith a yearly membership fee of ¥18,500. That was worth it until Delta closed down their operations in Narita and ended their service to Singapore and other Asian destinations. I almost never fly to the US. Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Club does not allow me to change my credit card to a different one without milage and lower yearly fee. I have to cancel the Skymiles card and reapply again. I’m retired now, have no stable income anymore and I fear, that this won’t work. I am therefore considering a debit card. Is anyone using the Nexus debit card and how is your experience? How do other options (Wise) compare? Thank you for your help.
