First of: the* pension book
Hello, I did some research, but I can’t really find something close to my situation.
So, I started working here on April 1st as my first job, buy came to Japan on something like March 5th.
To my understanding, this means I have to pay 1 month of national pension.
The thing is, when HR was helping me with documents, they forgot to have me register for pension, and I also didn’t do my research on that since I was used to pension only being paid if you actually work.
Now here is the thing, I went to the city office, and they asked me for my 基礎年金番号 with a troubled face.
Asking at the company, I heard it should be in my pension book. I told them I don’t have one and they were confused.
After some more consulting with the hr, I was told I should wait for the pension book to come and not register anywhere, since I would risk having 2 pension numbers.
Since details were explained in Japanese, I didn’t understand everything that well.
Since I am now included in the company pension scheme, do I receive the book from the company at a later date?
I know that the pension from April will be handled by them, but what about March? I didn’t get any notice probably since I was not registered. Will I get a payment slip for March only once my book is delivered?
Is it considered as unpaid debt? Like could I get in any trouble? I am dealing with a lot of 手続き at banks, and I would hate for it all to go poof because of this. Doesn’t really look good to already have debt 2 month in the country.
And lastly, how long do these things take to be handed out? If I really have to wait to receive it from the company, then it’s been like 4 weeks with nothing.
Thanks and sorry if the questions are stupid!
