There is a big controversy happening right now in France and USA about AC : Shadows which will be set in feodal Japan. The controversy is because one of the two main characters is Yasuke, a black man who served Oda Nobunaga and will be a Samouraï in the game.
A lot of people tell me that Japanese are very offended by this decision, that they already hate the game and so on… Can people living in Japan and Japanese people tell me any of this is true ?
What is the reception of the game in Japan ? Do they care about this game at all ? Do they care about how they’re represented ? If so are they offended one of the heroes is Yasuke and not a Japanese Samouraï ?
