We last lived in Japan before Covid but will likely be moving back next year. My question is whether the cost of living has risen noticeably in the last few years and, if so, where the impact has been most noticeable – groceries, housing, utilities, eating out, education, transportation, domestic travel (hotels, ryokan)? I am aware of the statistics but would be curious anecdotally if and how inflation is impacting your lives significantly. Is it as bad as it has been in the U.S.? Thanks in advance.
