I’ve learned that exclamation points, when speaking Japanese, are mostly for surprise rather than excitement. Can I still use them in the context of excitement and/or sometimes just heavy gratitude?
Also, can I use them when speaking more formally? (example: if i say 「ありがとうございます！」 to my father?)
