After the Tateyama Kurobe route, we will spend the night in Omachi Osenkyo this week. However, due to some changes, we now have two days last-minute open in our itinerary after the night in Omachi Osenkyo, and debating what to do.
In past trips we have already visited Matsumoto and Nagano, and are not looking to rent a car for just those two days if possible or going to Kamikochi due to the detour. And good to know after those two days/nights we are going back to Tokyo.
Looking for hiking/nature possibilities if possible or nice towns with local stays, but preferably not also on snow/alpine heights of course as similar to the alpine route.
