Im posting my itinerary for a two-week trip to Japan in late November and would love to hear any advice or words of caution that you might have.
My buddy and I will be starting in Tokyo for a few days before taking a train to Kanazawa, where we will rent a car. From Kanazawa, I’ll drive around the mountains north of Kyoto, exploring the scenic areas until I return the car in Osaka. We will spend some time in Osaka and take trains to visit Nara and other nearby places. Then, we plan to take a ferry to Matsuyama, where we will rent another car to explore Matsuyama and Kochi. After returning the car in Kochi, I’ll take a train to Kyoto, and finally return to Tokyo for the last part of the trip.
My friend and I will be renting a car for part of the trip to explore some of the more rural and scenic areas. To be honest I’m nervous about driving in Japan, but I’ve been several times and can read hiragana – hoping it won’t be too hard? Any must-see spots or driving tips would be greatly appreciated!
