I have already booked a hut stay for the 10th of July, and have been researching the earliest possible arrival time. However, I can’t seem to get a clear answer as to whether there will be buses from Kawaguchiko (or nearby,) on the date I mentioned and if I can reserve them in advance. Or if I am forced to take the bus from Shinjuku.
If Shinjuku is the only departure spot, would it be possible to summit Mt. Fuji and return to the 7th Station before 7PM? Or would it take longer considering the arrival time being around 9:30AM?
I ask because I would like to get a hiking stick fully branded, return for dinner, and leave as early as possible the following day after seeing sunrise.
Sidenote, how often do you recommend I acclimate and which stations would be the best? May I hike down the up trail? And as I was late to reserve a hut, the price was quite expensive. With the temperature only reaching -5°C at it’s lowest (from what I’ve read), how bad of an idea would keeping the money and staying outside be?
