Seeing Mt Fuji From Tokyo to Kyoto Shinkansen / Can You Reserve Specific Seats?

When I try to book tickets it only lets me pick an “ordinary seat” or a “green seat”.

Am I able to pick exactly what side of the train I’d like to sit on or is it just luck where you end up?
