dynamic pricing to be more expensive than the normal price ?😭 has somebody the data about the number of passengers using this line ? If it’s full there are chances we are set for a price increase
The beginning of the end
Booooo
I’ll fly ANA or JAL instead now
no more subsidy
The company can charge whatever it wants. If people can’t or don’t want to afford the bullet train (which is a luxury), they can take a plane ride or a bus.
Can JR stop being a fucking Shole company ? Closing midori madoguchi was not enought ? My station don’t even have staff anymore, just an intercom….
Dynamic pricing is just a polite way of steadily increasing prices and attributing it to demand.
Bullet train was twice as expensive as the flight. So we took a flight.
Dynamic pricing = price gouging
so pretty much max price during 8am to 8pm weekdays and 6am to 10pm on weekend… and maybe they will start charging after hour fee for any other time soon…
“Before the trial began, advance tickets for the same route were set at 3,800 yen for adults. If bought within a week of departure, a standard ticket costs 5,230 yen.”
“As a result, customers will pay one of three prices — 4,200 yen, 3,800 yen or 3,400 yen — for an advance adult one-way ticket including seat reservation on the section of the line.”
Looks fine.
In demand periods should cost more.
Also means greater incentive to travel in lower demand periods which helps even out passenger flow.
Restaurants are more expensive for dinner than for lunch. That’s dynamic pricing.
The rise of LCC’S will begin. Flying is faster anyway.
Ew no
It’s game over, this was one of the best thing about Japanese trains.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the IPO half a decade ago
This could pressure employers of 9-5 on-site operations to offer travel stipend since hours aren’t flexible.
Some heads need to lose their permission to live comfortably on rich, greedy necks…
