Hi there, I just moved to Japan and got a new microwave oven. I was surprised by the separate grounding cable that is dangling from the microwave. I was doing some research and it seems like we should ground the device since it’s also only a class 1 appliance. Unfortunately, the only grounded outlets are quite far away…
The device in question is: [https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B09KBNHH3M/](https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B09KBNHH3M/) / Sharp RE-SS26B-W
2 question:
* The アース cable is a bit too short, what’s the best way of extending this cable? Is there any issues having it 5-7m long? Do I need to watch out when laying out the cable in the apartment? I was going to run it along the kitchen counter and then up the wall to the socket with grounding
* Can the power plug be plugged into a different outlet/socket than the アース one? Or do they need to be connected to the same? (e.g. ground in kitchen and socket in living room)
Thanks for your help!
