Resign or be terminated?

Howdy all,

I previously posted on this forum about being possibly terminated from my company. After discussing with them for a while, they offered to give me one month worth of pay in order for me to resign back in April. There was an incident with me and another employee was being incredibly racist towards me, and I ended up walking off the job prior to that. There are numerous situations that exposed me to a lot of racist and unprofessional behavior from my Japanese coworkers, for example, being yelled at on the job in front of guests, and other employees, I tried to bear with it as much as I could, and I tried to educate them that their behavior was unacceptable especially for foreigners, but they wouldn’t hear it one night during service. One of the coworkers ended up, saying something completely unprofessional and rude to me during service to which I couldn’t stand it, and I decided that I would leave early and go home the next day without even hearing my explanation as to what happened and only listening to the Japanese employees the manager of the hotel told me that I “didn’t need to come into work anymore and that he couldn’t allow me to come back to work”

After that incident he didn’t allow me to come back to work and I stayed at home for practically one month while he figured out how to get rid of me.

Fast forward I had numerous meetings with HR while they “Investigate” the issue. And in the end they concluded that I was “Not able to get along with everyone”

And that I should be transferred to another location of theirs in Tokyo.

However the costs for moving would befall on me and be my responsibility.

I told them I’m unable to afford that, and that I should be allowed to come back to work. Their rudeness isn’t my fault, and I’m there to work not to get along with everyone.

They said neither option was acceptable for them, and they asked me to resign on your own.

That they would pay me for May (Which they did)

And June,

I feel like I’m getting ripped off here and we are having no a meeting in five days to discuss the resignation. They were so eager to have me sign the resignation form the day after our third meeting. Even asking me if I had any questions, I didn’t sign it and now we are having a big meeting with me, HR, and possibly the ceo of the company I believe. Or at least the big boss on the 30th.

I’m not sure what I should do here, I need my salary for June to pay my rent, and I’ve been job hunting like crazy since the beginning of May. But I haven’t found anything yet, I live in Kyoto as well.

I really can’t afford to consult a lawyer, especially since I’m going back to the states next week to visit my sick grandmother.

I’m at a loss, if I accept this resignation can I still claim unemployment while I find another job? Do I give up that right? Should I ask for a better severance?

I already tried to ask for severance up till July, but they said it’s not possible. That if I don’t resign I will be terminated, I am Shain by the way if that helps.

Any advice would be super helpful.
