I’m (F). So I moved to Japan a few months ago and all this while I haven’t played any sports. Back home I just played whatever sport with like track pants or shorts whatever but like rn I don’t own a single pair of track pants fit for the summer. (I came in early winter here). Now my friend has invited me to play tennis tomorrow. First off, I’ve never played tennis in my life. Second, all I have for summer sports wear is this pair of yoga pants. I’ve watched like TikToks advising that leggings type clothing is considered as revealing and frowned upon in japan.tbh idk wtf that means. I don’t notice what clothes people wear around me so idk if that’s true. I suddenly feel extremely conscious about what to wear tomorrow. Please help. There will be boys and fyi I’m in uni so ahhhhhhhh. Also, this is rural Japan so kgskgsjxgxg.

So I wore my yoga pants with this long oversized t-shirt that I had, it covered my butt fully, so safe! Carried my windcheater with me too but didn’t need it. It was okay!!! The build up of the event and the actual happening of it was anticlimactic.No one stared at my butt, at least to my knowledge lol. Didn’t feel too out of place either 🙂
I am grateful to everyone who added their inputs. Thank you for your help. It was a rather small issue but it felt like a rather important aspect of understanding life in this country.🙏
