I’ve lived in a southern state for almost 12 years of my life (1st grade to 12th grade). I wouldn’t say where I live is rural since it’s rather close to Memphis TN but in this town, i have yet to meet a single other Japanese person here. I cannot emphasize this enough. In my decade and some of living in where I live, I haven’t met a single other Japanese person. I used to visit japan every other year before covid ,but now I haven’t visited in 4 years and I am feeling both home sick and lost. Does anyone have any advice to getting in touch with your culture when you are so far away from it? Are there any places where I could meet more Japanese people (preferably in the Memphis area but online as well)?
