Fishing in freshwater along a trail, Daisetsuzan National Park

Hi Guys,

Im thinking of fishing along the hike up to Mount Tamuraushi and was wondering if fishing in the freshwaters require some kinds of permit. Read somewhere that freshwaters will require a local license.

I dont want to assume and do it illegally so would appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction with more information. Thanks in advance, any advise is appreciated!
