AMEX Gold Preferred Card: some questions

Hi everyone! I’m thinking of applying for my first AMEX card in Japan and the new Gold Preferred card looks like a great option for the bonus points (120,000?). I know that similar posts have been made here before, but I have a few additional questions:

1. How strict is the approval process e.g. salary threshold?
2. How long does it take to get approved and actually receive the card?
3. Apart from the bonus points, do you think that the perks justify the ~¥40,000 annual fee?
