Finding Universities in Japan

Hello everyone, I really need help because the internet is not enough at this point. I don’t know how to successfully look for a suitable university, the best I could find are the popular ones in multiple prefectures/cities, but usually they don’t have psychology courses or.. enough informations on their sites (I couldnt even find their emails, just phone numbers). Most of the time the best I see as a degree and closest to what I need is either “human sciences” or “liberal arts”, though I am not sure if those are ok for someone who is looking to become a forensic psychologist as I intend to (or maybe psychology professor. Still considering. Also, I know I need to do a master, I will, but still…)

Please, if anyone knows how to help with this it will all be appreciated! I don’t necessarily need the hyped colleges that are known to everyone… a place with a dorm where I could fit in with my study interests is more than enough! (Kantō region is my go to, but honestly.. anything works)

  1. If you’re interested in Psychology at a Japanese university then you should be searching for it in Japanese. If your Japanese isn’t strong enough to do that then it probably won’t be strong enough to complete the course material and follow along with lectures.

With that out of the way, JASSO has a pretty good searchable database of schools in Japan. You can search it here: https://www.studyinjapan.go.jp/en/planning/search-school/
