Selling car in a different Prefecture

Hi friends,

Thanks to this sub for all the help it's given me in my adventure moving and living in Japan! I have a question that I can't seem to find an easy answer for so I'm hoping someone has maybe experienced something similar.

I was living in Hokkaido and bought myself a Honda Life kei car, this spring I decided to go on a road trip across Japan and am now in Kyushu. My plans have changed a bit and I am going to be moving to Tokyo where I won't need my car and I was thinking of just selling it here and flying to Tokyo. Will this be possible? Am I going to be hit with some crazy bureaucracy because the car is registered in a different region?

Will a private sale be possible or only a dealer?
