A girl, about 13 was reading a book and sitting next to her mother. The girl told her mother she was hungry so the mother pulled what looked like a BBQ pork bun out of her bag , and held it up to the daughters mouth, so she could take bites out of it while still reading her book. I couldn’t believe a mother was hand feeding her teenage daughter.
I thought that able bodied children could lift their own hand to their mouth from age 2.5. I would have thought teenagers or kids would feel humiliated to be hand fed? She seemed perfectly ok with it, as if being pandered to like this was completely normal. I also feel bad for the mother, imagine what her life is like.
