Does anyone know the situation with sleep clinics/ sleep disorders and doctors/meds in Japan for those issues? I have to find a clinic and doctor in Japan who can treat my sleep disorder (idiopathic hypersomnia).
Specifically, Kobe, Osaka, Okayama or Tokyo areas (I go back and forth between these locations but mainly located in Kobe/Osaka area).
I have Idiopathic hypersomnia (too much sleepiness), already had an MSLT and a diagnosis in the United States. I don't want to redo the MSLT test/diagnosis procedure in Japan and would prefer if at all possible to find a doctor/sleep clinic who will accept and respect my existing diagnosis and work with me to find a treatment plan with medication. Although I speak Japanese and English, it would be nice to have someone who is experienced and able to work with foreigners like myself.
Would be thankful for any tips or recommendations.

Get records of your US diagnosis, take them to a doctor at an international hospital, tell them you want to continue treatment.
What I don’t know is how well understood hypersomnia is here, or what specific medical department it falls under.
