Hi everyone,
My name is Alex – I'm a photographer from the UK and I'm coming to Okinawa this month to make a photo book on longevity (I know, very original). I'm aware that a lot of people have done similar documentary projects in recent years especially since the Netflix series, and that it's important to approach this with respect and integrity.
One of the threads I intend on exploring in my work there is the spiritual relationship some locals have with the land through their animist beliefs.
Wanted to post this to the group to see if anyone could recommend any people, places or research that would be worth me looking into?
