Budget check for 3-ish week trip through Japan

Hi all!

I know this has been asked plenty of times already, but I want to be absolute sure our budget is correct.

We are going to Japan mid-September until mid october for 23 days. Our plan is as follows:

  • Start in Tokyo, with daytrips to: Kamakura, Nikko, Kawagoe. We also plan to visit Teamlabs Planets and WB Harry Potter Studios.

  • Take Shinkansen to Kyoto. Stay in Kyoto with daytrips to: Kibune, Uji.

  • Go to Osaka. Stay in Osaka with daytrips to: Nara, Himeji, Asuka. We also want to go for 1 day to Universal Studios + express pass.

  • Go to Koyasan. Stay 1 night at a temple in Koyasan.

  • Go back to Osaka for 1 night.

  • Go back to Tokyo with the Shinkansen for the last night.

Now we already paid for the flight tickets, accommodations, teamlabs planets and the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto.

We don’t plan to be ‘on budget’, since we want to try out lots of food en visit many many temples.

Now the main question: would 3-4k€ per person be enough, considering we already paid for the things mentioned earlier?

I understand that required budget depends per person, but we are not planning to do very luxurious things, but we also don’t want to regret not being able to spend money on cool stuff and souvenirs and such because of a tight budget.

Thanks in advance!
