I'm staying in Osaka and am thinking about coming to Kyoto tomorrow to photograph the festival. I've experienced Tenjin Matsuri before but never Gion. I know that it is supposed to be very crowded and be difficult to walk around so most people just pick a spot and plant themselves for the duration of the parade. Do any photographers have a spot they would suggest for getting the best photos?
I shoot with a sony a7r4 and have a telephoto lens.
I'd appreciate any insight or pointers you can offer.
