Travel – Sept 1st week.
Day-1:
- Land in Tokyo- Narita at 2 pm and take train to hotel in Shinjuku area
- Take rest and go walk in Shinjuku and go drinking in golden gai area
Day-2:
- Team Labs – 1st thing to do on day2
- Tokyo tower area,anything else to do in Roppongi?
- Shibuya area ( shibuya sky, shibuya crossing)
- Senso-Ji temple after sunset
Metropolitan tower (closes at 10, be there by 8:30 pm )
Day-3:
Day trip to Mt. Fuji and lakes
return to hotel and relax or go out drinking
Day-4:
- day trip to kyoto. take the earliest shinkansen to Kyoto
- Is it possible to squeeze Osaka ( 2 hours) and take the last Shinkansen to Tokyo?
Day-5:
- rest, wake up late and take train to Narita for evening flight
I am planning to buy JR pass during and plan to use it for these trips.

Is the metropolitan tower on day 2 of your itinerary the Tokyo metropolitan government building? I always thought that closed at 5pm on weekdays. Please double check before you go. Also going from team labs to Shibuya to sensoji and back to the metropolitan building is crossing the city back and forth which will waste a lot of time. Sounds tiring. You could group Shibuya with Takeshita street and shinjuku for more of a closer, linear path.
For day 4 I don’t think you can squeeze both Kyoto and Osaka together as a day trip from Tokyo. You’re wasting like 5 hours of train time alone round trip. You might get to visit 1-2 areas in Kyoto as a day trip from Tokyo which doesn’t seem worth it. Maybe look at closer areas like Kamakura for a day trip from Tokyo.
If you are going to an izakaya in Shinjuku, “Omoide Yokocho” is recommended!
National Art Center Tokyo is in Roppongi and was great for an hour/hour and a half. Also convenient and interesting walk from there through Omotesando and Harajuku to Shibuya or Shinjuku
teamlab, a word of caution. there are a lot of germs there. many foreign ppl coming together in one place. go completely overboard with hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes.
