I was having trouble finding answers for this on the government website.
I am an American citizen born in the U.S. and my father is a Japanese immigrant to the U.S. who was a Japanese citizen at the time of my birth but has since become an American citizen. As far as I know, he never notified the Japanese government of my birth. I am 19 years old, currently residing in the U.S. but plan to move to Japan later in life. Is it too late for me to claim my Japanese citizenship before I have to naturalize for it?
