I was enrolled in a Japanese Language School and my student visa validity is until next year April.
I came across opportunities become assistant teachers in Japan so I wanted to give it a try and I already got interviews from companies. I read online there are people able to change from student visa to work visa after terminating their studies. Technically, I did go through the whole semester just not the entire length of my visa. My attendance rate is 90% -100% too. But I was trying to stay within the rules and consulted my school. They told I should not be doing that but instead I should be preparing to leave the country.
Which does not make sense because
- You can job hunt on Tourist visa too so I don't see why I am not allowed to job hunt with my current visa
- My visa is valid until next year
- I am still within my grace period (1 month although it can be 3 months because they just cut out the hassle of changing to Tourist visa).
Can anyone enlightened me about what I actually can do or not do? I feel like the school is just holding back information.
Am I able to
- Readmission just so I can get more time to slowly transition?
- Change school to do the above?
- Stay here 2-3 months while getting a Work visa?
- Change to a Job Hunting Visa? I only received Certificate of Completion. Does anyone have success in getting Certificate of Graduation when studying less than a year?
Anyone who succeeded before and able to provide info would be greatly appreciated. By means, I am trying to stay within the law but it seems being truthful with the school doesn't help =)
