I’m married to a Japanese national and am under 日本人の配偶者ビザ( spouse of Japanese national visa). I’ve been seeing articles and information all over the internet about it being possible to apply for a visa for my parents to come visit us in Japan but all the information is vague and hard to follow. Was wondering if anyone has any experience/ info on this? My parents are American citizens that live in the Philippines.
Side note: I’ve seen that SOFA status people(the agreement for American military/American civilian workers to live in Japan ) are able to apply for a visa to have family members visit as an option but then again the info online doesn’t make it clear if it’s active duty (military)SOFA personnel or anyone under SOFA including civilian workers. I have a family member that is SOFA but not active military so would appreciate info on that aspect too.
I appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks in advance.
