So the news came out after the Noah show today with Jake Lee joining War Dogs. With Jake breaking up GLG and being in the G1. It was always a high chance he would join new japan.
But Jake Lee just seems like a mismatched guy for new Japan. This just feels like the company wanted another tall pretty boy. Except that Jake Lee isn't a standout talent and has only a couple of good/great matches when he's facing top level talent.
Jake Lee in Noah didn't feel special.Nor did it benefit them when he was champion. From my POV, Lee is in the same realm as Sanada. He has a cool look, Japanese fans(specifically ladies) will love him. But he isn't a must-see talent that people are hyped to see.
This feel like Tanahashi decision who has spoken high on Lee in the past. And he wanted to bring him in. But there is no way there weren't any other options for talent they could have picked up.
