Hi, I'll be flying from Osaka to visit Kyushu for 2 weeks (from 3rd or 4th of Nov to the 17th) and then fly to Tokyo.
I want to see Nagasaki, Fukuoka, Beppu/Oita/Yufuin, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Sakurajima and maybe Yakushima for sure.
This is the itinerary I've planned so far:
Day 1: Fly from Osaka to Nagasaki arriving around 12 PM (stay 2 nights), check in and see Nagasaki after lunch
Day 2: See Nagasaki for a full day
Day 3: Train from Nagasaki to Fukuoka (stay in Fukuoka 3 nights), see Fukuoka
Day 4: See Fukuoka for a Full Day
Day 5: Maybe day trip to Kitakyushu? or do you have any recommendations?
Day 6: Train/bus to Beppu (stay 2 nights, not sure where do put my base, Beppu, Oita or Yufuin), See Beppu
Day 7: See Oita and Yufuin
Day 8: Train to Kumamoto (stay in 3 nights Kumamoto), see Kumamoto, maybe eat at Baratei
Day 9: Day trip to see Mt. Aso
Day 10: Day trip to Takachiho Gorge
Day 11: Train to Kagoshima (stay in Kagoshima 3 nights), see Kagoshima
Day 12: Day trip to Sakurajima
Day 13: Day trip to Yakushima (Should I stay the night here?)
Day 14: See a bit of Kagoshima and then fly to Tokyo after lunch.
I have to see it, but maybe I could extend the trip one extra day.
I'm thinking of buying the JR North Kyushu pass (5 days) the day I leave from Nagasaki to Fukuoka and then the All Kyushu pass (7 days), as combined are cheaper then buying the Normal JR Pass for two weeks.
What do you think of the itinerary and would you change/add anything? (I don't own a driving license)
