Itinerary check? 7/21 to 7/28
Adult and 10-year-old daughter. I know July will be hot, humid, and rainy! (I have spent summer weeks in India, so I think we’ll be okay.) But to be safe, I’m trying to plan lots of rest, avoid too much walking, and prioritizing indoor activities.
The itinerary:
7/21: arrive to Narita, get to hotel, rest, eat.
7/22: Tsukiji market tour with breakfast (near the hotel, hopefully it’s cooler in the morning). Ghibli Museum in the afternoon. (Only day I could get tickets for Ghibli museum.)
7/23: Meiji Jingu Shrine early in the morning unless we are too jetlagged. Shibuya food tour for lunch. Then explore Shibuya and then Harajuku on our own. (I made a long list of places to go, but it would depend on how we feel.)
7/24: Booked a kimono making activity in the morning. Then shinkansen to Kyoto, staying at a Ryokan.
7/25: Booked a Kyoto tour with a licensed guide. Hope this works — tons of great reviews say the guides are receptive to personal needs/requests. Our main request is to stay comfortable, not push to see too much. At least Fushimi Inari, Nishiki Market, and ending at Manga museum (my daughter is really into art).
7/26: Making sushi at someone’s house in Kyoto. Later shinkansen back to Tokyo.
7/27: Day trip to Hakone / Fuji-san.
7/28: Back home (flight leave in the evening).
