about learning vocab before encountering its kanji

i've been going through all the n5 and n4 kanji and am currently decently far into the n4 kanji. however, there are a lot of words i feel are pretty important vocab to learn right now but sometimes they have kanji that belong to a later level, like n3 or n2, or is just not something i've studied yet.

is it recommended to learn those words with just the hiragana until i get to their kanji, not learn them yet, or try to also learn all of their kanji among my current ones? i'm mostly curious what others are doing; i'll ultimately probably do what feels the most comfortable, but i'd like a little advice!
