Hi everyone,
I was just planning my second trip to Japan and I had some areas of interest that I wanted to make it to. I was planning about 4 days staying near Miyajima. I wanted to visit Iwakuni, Akiyoshido Cave, and venture up near Motonosumi Inari. I won't be traveling as far a Fukuoka (I just do not feel I have the time).
Has anyone done a day trip to Motonosumi Inari or would you need more time? If I were to do a day trip would you recommend just training and taking a taxi (my experiences taking taxis in Japan have not been great), or would it be better to rent a car in Yamaguchi and drive? I have never had to drive a car Japan and am unsure if it would be too confusing, or stressful especially with tolls. I know there are tours that go from Fukuoka but I wasn't planning on staying there this trip, and I prefer to just go at my own pace and would probably stop a few other places on a whim. Would it better to just save this for another trip when I am closer or is this an easier day trip than I think. Sorry for the chaos questions I am just trying to finalize trip details and am second guessing myself as this is my first solo trip. Any other suggestions of places your recommend seeing in the area are welcome as well!
