First time visiting Japan from New Jersey for 2 weeks, super excited!! I am bit of a fast travel person who likes be on-the-go(not relaxed) vacation trying to soak as much possible. Please pardon if my question sounds like a rushed trip.
My plan –
- Arrive in Kawaguchi from Tokyo around5/6pm; Check-in hotel/ryokan for overnight stay.
- Wake up early morning and cover – Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway.
- Head to Hakone via Gotemba(using two different bus lines) which per google maps is a 3 hour journey.
- Do the Hakone ropeway with Owakudani, enjoy the black shell eggs and restaurant atop the ropeway.
- Reach Hakone station by 4pm and catch get a bullet(or regular) train back to Tokyo.
I am gonna be carry just day trip backpack. Also is it better to rent a car from Tokyo drive to Kawaguchi, then drive down to Hakone and do the stuff I plan to do? Greatly appreciate honest thoughts/feedback
