My family member is on duty station in Okinawa at the Kadena Air Force Base. He needs to return item to Amazon but the app is saying to return it to a local UPS drop off
Is there a UPS drop off in Okinawa? or is there another way to do Amazon returns there?

Unfortunately there is no UPS or FedEx in Okinawa. The Japanese have Yamato (Black Cat) and Sagawa delivery services. They will do returns to Japanese Amazon, but I don’t know if they handle returns to US Amazon. Here is a link:

If they can’t help, then you might have to use Japan Post Office (which is expensive).
I feel like using the USPS on base would work as well. Worst case they might have to pay shipping.
Post Office on base is the only option.
Just the post office on base.
I’ve returned a number of items through the post office to Amazon. There shouldn’t be any issues.
It’s the same as when an item ships via UPS. They transfer it to the USPS for delivery to APO and even a number of addresses in the US, so it’s pretty common.
The base may have a service called “pack and wrap.” They’re the ones who deal with other carriers besides usps.
No UPS drop off but you can contact Amazon customer service and request a USPS return shipping label and explain the situation. Usually they default to USPS but the couple times they provided a UPS, they changed it to USPS after I explained the situation.
