Osaka/Kyushu Itinerary with kids

Considering a trip to Japan for Osaka/Kyushu (mainly Fukuoka) later this year. Not first time in Japan but will be first time in the area (except a day trip to Osaka many years ago). I will be traveling in family of 4 with two kids 4 and 2yr old. I want to gauge how many nights I will need. We travel slow given the kids and spend most of our time hopping between cafe/light shopping/food/activities for kids to run and play in.

Day 1 – Arrive in Osaka

  • No concrete plans, just walk around, food, and get acclimated.

Day 2 – Osaka

  • Kid Place Plaza
  • TeamLab Botanical

Day 3 – Osaka

  • Aquarium
  • Tempozan Ferris Wheel

Day 4 – Osaka to Fukuoka

  • TeamLab Forest

Day 5 – Fukuoka

  • Ohori Park

Day 6 – Fukuoka

  • Uminonakamichi Seaside Park

Day 8 – Fukuoka (day trip to Kumamoto)

Day 9 – Fukuoka to TBD Onsen Ryokan (maybe around Yufuin if I can figure out how to rent/drive a car there)

  • Not sure if onsen ryokan worth yet with kids given they are too young to be in it
  • Also TBD is 1 or 2 nights here.
  • Yufuin Floral Village

Day 10 – Back to Fukuoka

Day 11 – Fukuoka to Osaka Airport

  • Unsure about this – 3.5hr train ride to airport only to hitch a long plane right sounds rough. May consider spending one night at Osaka first.

The last 3 days looks rough to me. Between getting from Fukuoka to Yufuin, back to Fukuoka in order to get back to Osaka, and then flight out, it's a lot of travel in a short span of time. Interested in feedback here as well.
