It’s my last day at work tomorrow, and I’m moving back to my home country. Apparently tomorrow I will receive the “gensen choshu hyo” tomorrow and it will say how much tax I’m due back (year end adjustment). I always get a little bit back at the end of the year because I declared a dependent, but obviously I won’t be here at the end of the year so I’m wondering what I need to do? I checked online but couldn’t find info specific to my situation. Usually a refund is paid into my Japanese bank account by my employer in December, but they are clueless about it now that I’m leaving overseas. Also, I already declared a tax rep in Japan, can’t my employer just pay it to them without me having to do some long winded thing at the tax office which is an hours drive away lol…
I am a prefectural assistant language teacher, FYI
