Moving savings from Sweden to Japan

Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Japan to live with my spouse. I'm from Sweden and I would most likely want to transfer my savings about 1.4mil SEK ~ ¥19.5mil to buy a property for us to live in.

My question is that; what is the best/cheapest way for us to do that?

I have never used wire transfer from my current bank (one of the big three in sweden) but they told me once that to transfer money from my bank to Japan, I will need to do it through an another bank in Germany then to Japan as the Japanese bank did not to direct transfer with my current t bank. So effectively, I need to exchange SEK to € than to ¥. I'm thinking that this will hurt me quite a bit since I might need to pay exchange fees twice on top of the transfer cost that involves three banks and countries.

Thanks in advance for any guidance/tips.
