Hello everyone,
My wife and i are planning to relocate to japan from the us in 5 years and are beginning to learn and determine appropriate paths to obtain visas and secure work. I work in a niche construction field doing underground infrastructure rehabilitation and am currently working towards a CDL and have roughly 5 years experience in this field. In this field i have multiple certifications that are internationally recognized as well (NASSCO certifications). In our research we have found that work visas can be granted with 10 years experience in a specific field but i cannot find indepth information on this point other than an article or two. From my research i do not think i will qualify as construction is not particularly listed in these articles, rather the SSW visa is linked for this.
My question i guess is if anyone has experience with construction and has worked in japan using this field as their visa application, what the process is like, and how difficult it was to use this field to obtain a visa.
Additional information: i also have roughly 1 year left before obtaining a bachelors in architecture. I am not currently enrolled and have not been in school for 5 years, but would it be more advantageous to complete this degree prior to make the move to expand potential job horizons due to a completed degree.
Thank you for any and all insight.
