Hi guys,
I graduated from a college in Japan and moved to the US for work. I have been working as a sales rep for two years now.
I want to change my career to the tech industry as I love computers and video games. The market for soft-devs is not that great currently in the US, but I am looking for entry-level Japanese/English bilingual jobs, which exist, and they are recruiting as well.
Programming schools in the US are very expensive, and I was thinking of returning to Japan to get into a school and then moving back to the US for work. I might as well work in Japan for a few years, gain experience, and then move back to the US.
For context, my family lives in Japan; we have a house, so I can do part-time and study, which is impossible in the US as we don't have anything here. I have a PR in Japan, but am a US citizen. I can speak Japanese natively and fluent in English.
Looking at schools like DMM Webcamp, they seem quite promising, although it seems like they will be trying to get me a job in their network, whether I like it or not, and if I say no, they won't support me in finding a job anymore. I understand this is for their reports and statistics, but moving to the US will be my priority, so it does not matter.
Are these schools worth it? They are way cheaper than the well-known schools in the US.
Anything helps, thanks in advance!
