A bank account in the US I actually closed last year still sends me credit updates, and a few weeks ago I got a notice that my credit had been checked and subsequently went down. So I tried to do the free online check with the three big agencies and got an error with each one. I can use my relative's address to get the reports sent by mail, but now I'm thinking I should freeze my credit? But reading other people's experiences online this can be difficult to do and even more difficult to undo if needed while living abroad. Does anyone have any recent experience with this they can share?
