Hi! I’m a new preschool assistant teacher and my boss asked me to lead the circle time on Monday. We’ll be having one of the kids’ dad as a guest during circle time (he’s Jamaican and he just arrived at Japan today) so I would like to ask for ideas on what questions could I ask him and how could I make circle time more interactive/engaging for everyone?
Thank you very much!!

Animal sounds. Kids do Japanese. He can do English/jamacian
Maybe a Jamaican song or dance! Kids love to move.
You could ask him to tell a Jamaican story, fable or nursery rhyme. If you get the lowdown ahead of time, great, pre plan some gestures for the interesting animals, the verbs or whatever and get the kids to listen and respond to those points by doing the gestures.
Go wild with your creativity. Throw in laughter, songs or rhymes for certain characters. Ask the kids to imagine and describe, or lead them to describing parts of the story.
Alternatively, some kind of show and tell? Can he bring something in that’s cool to show/tell a story about? You can lead a choral Q&A
