A question about #taxfree shopping and #airport checks.
When you buy stuff tax-free, the items will be sealed in the shop, as they are not supposed to be used in Japan. And this is how you are supposed to present them to #Customs if asked. The thing is, I'm planning to buy #knives. And I don't suppose this is something I can carry in the cabin
So, does the customs control happen before or after the security check? If I have my big suitcase with the knives in it checked in already, I won't be able to show them to the customs officers if they ask me to in the post-security check area.
