My internet connection is 1gbps Flets with Asahinet. I have a TP Link AX73 router and ipv6 enabled. Asahinet uses DS-Lite and this is what is configured in the router settings. I don’t have any other issues at all. Speed is very fast anytime during the day and the connection is reliable. The only problem is on my phone a lot of apps are not working unless I toggle off and on the wifi. Like Line messages are not sent, Instagram feed not refreshing etc. I use a Pixel 6 Pro which is a bit notorious for connection issues but I’ve never experienced this in any other network. Also at the time the apps stop working on my phone, browsing from my PC or laptop works fine. Any ideas what could be the problem before I order a Buffalo router?

That sounds like a problem with your phone rather than your network. Have you tried restarting your phone?

The problem is likely the carrier grade NAT timing out sessions being used by long lived TCP or HTTP connections used by the phone apps. The CGNAT should send a RST segment but if it doesn’t, the app may not become aware that the connection is dead.
I’m having exactly the same issue with a TP link router and a Pixel 4a. Everything works fine on my PC, and the phone works fine on other wifi as well.
I’ve been having a similar issue with TP Link AX10 router with Pixel 6 and 4a. I’m using Rakuten Hikari with IPv6 enabled. The apps don’t work for the first like 30 seconds – 2 minutes but after that they’re OK. (e.g. Instagram, Spotify)
I tried doing some research but haven’t found a solution. A couple of similar sounding issues I found:
– [Reddit post on IPv6 and Android](https://www.reddit.com/r/ipv6/comments/hhjnrg/ipv6_still_causing_issues_on_android_on_home/)
– [Google IssueTracker: Wifi slow if IPv6 enabled](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/37010445?pli=1)
If you do end up buying a new router, I’d like to know if it works successfully so I can follow suit…
